Master Your Mind, Master Your Physique – Part 6: Summary & Baselines
We’ve covered quite a bit of area in these articles & I hope you have enjoyed the content!
The following is a quick summary of the main points we covered as well as the actions you should have/are undertaking-
- Understand that our self talk is composed on words, pictures & emotions. This self-talk accumulates into beliefs which sets our self-image
- Know how powerful our beliefs are, whether their true or not
- Have a basic understanding of your Reticular Activating System & how it filters based on what it perceives to be valuable information
- Have spent some time thinking & defining what your ideal physique and have a new and improved self-image of yourself
- Have defined an affirmation that confirms this self-image which you’re using to constantly control your self-talk
- You identify when you have negative self-talk and correct yourself
- On a subconscious level you are assimilating to your new self-image and on a conscious level you are putting in the hard work/effort required to achieve your ideal physique
Now if you’ve done this you’ve set yourself up onto the path for success to achieve your ideal physique. The beauty in this is that you can apply the above for any any goal you may have.

Before I sign out I want to touch really quickly on a key point that will fundamental to your development from here on.
And that is that happiness comes from the journey of where you are now and where you want to be. Once you achieve your ideal physique your happiness will be short lived as this is your new baseline. Don’t let this deter you, this is natural and means you need to either push your goals further or find a new goal.
The end is never the end, the goal post must always be moved. We must explore beyond our comfort zone as this is how we grow.
Your baseline resets when you achieve your goal, this is your new normal. The trick is to keep setting higher expectations of yourself, higher ambitions and instil a higher sense of your self-image. Our baselines reset & due to this our ambitions need to reset too for the better.
Happiness is not the attainment of a goal, it’s the journey there. And I wish you a great journey.
